Instrumental Music
Wind Ensemble
Wind Ensemble is the highly select auditioned ensemble, performing at various concerts throughout the year, as well as annual Conestoga Commencement. The Wind Ensemble performs a variety of repertoire from wind band classics to contemporary music, and is open to students in all grades.
Concert Band
Concert Band is a non-audition ensemble for students grade 9 through 12. All students who play brass or woodwind instruments are strongly encouraged to participate, while the percussionists are selected by audition. This ensemble performs a wide variety of repertoire from traditional symphonic wind band classics to contemporary selections. Concert Band perform two concerts a year.
Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble
The two jazz groups at the high school, Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble, are open to all students who play a jazz instrument. Both groups are auditioned, and play a variety of styles including big band classics, modern jazz, Latin, and funk.
Symphony Orchestra and String Ensemble
String players at Conestoga can participate in either the String Ensemble or Symphony Orchestra. The String Ensemble is non-auditioned, and is open to all violin, viola, cello, or bass players. The Symphony Orchestra is Conestoga's premier, auditioned, fully symphonic orchestra. Both groups perform together at the annual winter and spring concerts.
Percussion Ensemble
Made up of students in all grades, the Percussion Ensemble performs at the Spring Concert each year. The group practices and performs a diverse array of repertoire, including mallets, marching percussion, African drumming, and contemporary styles.
